Meadow pipitWiesenpieper Anthus pratensis
Family: Wagtails and pipits
A small brown pipit, streaked above and on the breast, with a fine bill, pale pink legs and white outer tail feathers that show as it flushes. Song flight rises from a fence post and parachutes down over damp meadows, moor and dune grassland, the thin call given in nervous series. It breeds in Germany, mainly in the north, and numbers rise on passage and through the winter.
