This is the long game: a good photograph of every bird species that occurs regularly in Germany. The list follows the official “Liste der Vögel Deutschlands” published by the German Ornithologists’ Society (DO-G), version 3.2, dated 30 June 2019, with later additions confirmed by the German rarities committee (DAK) and the Federation of German Avifaunists (DDA). Vagrants and exceptional records are left out, which leaves 320 species: breeding birds, regular migrants and winter visitors.

Only pictures that stand on their own count. A record shot that merely proves an encounter does not make it onto this list, however rare the bird. Species in grey are still open. The list keeps the energy of being out with birds present in trying times, and it forces attention on species that would otherwise be skipped, the everyday blackbird as much as the alpine birds a long way from Berlin.
